KATHMANDU — The ninth edition of the Himalayan Art Festival 2026 is underway at the Nepal Art Council in Babar Mahal, bringing together works by more than 160 contemporary Nepali artists.
The week-long festival, which began on Friday, features a diverse range of artworks including traditional paubha, paintings, sculptures, printmaking, installations and ceramics. Organized annually by E-Arts Nepal since 2017, the festival has become a platform for Nepali artists to present their works and connect with art enthusiasts and collectors.
According to the organizers, the festival aims not only to promote appreciation of contemporary Nepali art but also to encourage local art collecting and greater investment in the domestic art sector, including from Nepali corporate houses.
The Himalayan Art Festival will continue until August 27 at the Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal, Kathmandu.
